Our Projects - Our Stories

(1) The Seven Village of Hing Chun Alliance

The Sha Tau Kok Hing Chun Alliance, with a history spanning over 300 years, consists of seven Hakka villages in the northeast New Territories of Hong Kong: Lai Chi Wo, Mui Tsz Lam, Kop Tong, So Lo Pun, Sam A, Ngau Shi Wu and Siu Tan. In the past, these remote villages formed an alliance to maintain security and provide mutual assistance. They collaborated on building facilities and promoting education, and regularly hosted grand events, such as the Kwan Tai Festival and the Decennial Da Jiu Festival (Jiao Festival) of the Hing Chun Alliance, which is held every 10 years.

In 2024, the seven villages of the Hing Chun Alliance partnered with Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, the LNEF and the Chinachem Group to launch the “Our Stories” website. This platform features over 60 villagers who share their oral histories and folk songs, vividly recounting stories of past farming activities, wedding traditions and other aspects of their daily lives
